Associates Rosa Irwin Clark, Melanie Wheeler, Sarah Karen and Elinor Stanley will be taking part in the fourth of the series of week-long residencies at LIMBO, Margate.
With the support of LIMBO curator Claire Orme, the associates will be using the space to develop their ongoing ideas and practices and undertake research. The residency will culminate in an open crit on Friday 14 September and an exhibition which will be open to the public during the weekend.
During the week, Melanie will be investigating modes of contemporary fiction and the various ways that it manifests to look from alternative realms that can explore the nature of our physical reality whilst Sarah will be developing her ideas around cloth/materials and our relationship with it; how cloth is used as a concealment.
Elinor will be developing her ideas through painting, drawing and script writing thinking about the fantastical and the bodily and Rosa will be locating the ancient, East Kentish tradition of ‘hoodening’ in present-day Margate.
