“Hell, It’s Us’” is a translation of anthropologist Claude Levi-Strauss' statement “l’enfer c'est nous même”. 

Gav Toye and Sara Trillo, both studio holders at Limbo, have shared interests in anthropology, archaeology, magic and myth. They have worked together for the show, attempting to bring discourse elements of each of their practices together, initially by writing postcards to each other on developing their themes and ideas.

Gav has a predominantly painting based practice, whilst Sara uses sculpture, and both have made new work in the project space for the show.
